The reason Lucien was making such a noise was because he had a dead mouse which he was playing with. I've just removed the corpse from the sitting room. Daisy, who is the bravest of them all, caught a pigeon the other day, which was bigger than she was. I managed to rescue it and it flew away looking rather startled. Bubble, a small tortoiseshell cat I had, once caught a pheasant but couldn't get it through the cat flap, so it escaped and landed on top of the bird table. Bubble sat underneath it for hours.
Just noticed that I've been up for an hour and a half, but I'm still not sleepy, so maybe I'll watch TV. I got Sky because I'm such an insomniac, but even with hundreds of channels, there's often nothing to watch. Most of it is facile and undemanding. I like Sky Arts, because it often has retro concerts - I saw Jimi Hendrix's Isle of Wight concert the other evening. Actually, I'm a living legend because I was actually at that festival in 1970 - admittedly in my gym slip, but present nevertheless. It was a fantastic experience. I went there and back on my Honda 50 - my parents thought I was staying with a friend, and my friend's parents thought she was staying with me. Hehe. Also saw the Doors and Bob Dylan.
I might go back to bed and hope to sleep, but I'll probably end up here again.
I spent 16 years in the RAF defending the Free World , then got bunged out unceremoniously for being bipolar. I and was subsequently diagnosed with PTSD. Funny old world, isn't it?
