Just ordered a case of wine from the Naked Wines website, which has some fabulous discounts. I have friends staying at the end of the month, so thought I'd stock up. Also ordered some Irish whiskey from a chap in the village who imports it. I don't drink but I like to be hospitable, and I seem to have wine all over the place in the house. Better more than less. I used to love wine, both white and red, but I can't drink it now. When I was in the RAF my drink of choice was gin and tonic, but I can't drink that either. It's probably just as well, as I used to drink far too much - with hindsight, I was self medicating, trying to make myself feel better. Many bipolar people are mistakenly given the alcoholic label, when all they are doing is drinking to mask symptoms.
It's 0600 - do I go back to bed or sit it out? I think I'll stay up for a little while.
I spent 16 years in the RAF defending the Free World , then got bunged out unceremoniously for being bipolar. I and was subsequently diagnosed with PTSD. Funny old world, isn't it?
